La Casa De Amigos - is a family owned and operated food truck serving Honduran cuisine in the Firdale Village Shopping Plaza.

With over 15 years of food service experience, Dimas Cruz is proud to present La Casa De Amigos. While curating the menu, inspirations were pulled from his birthplace of Honduras and hometown of Southern California. Fusing together his Abuela’s original Honduran recipes with the flavors of Southern California. La Casa De Amigos is your home cooked meal on the go!

What inspired you to open a food truck?

Opening La Casa De Amigos is my opportunity to share Honduran culture with a larger audience. In my culture food and service are ways of life. You would never leave your Abuela’s home without feeling full and cared for. My vision for La Casa De Amigos is to create community around food. Although we are not a sit down restaurant (or your abuela) we do hope you leave feeling well fed and like an amigo.

What is ‘Honduran cuisine’?

Honduran cuisine is a fusion of Lenca cooking with influences from the Caribbean, Spain and Africa. In a typical Honduran plate you will find layers of heat, spice, and sweetness. While creating the menu for La Casa De Amigos I pulled inspiration from my roots. My Abuela’s original recipes are the backbone of these dishes and from there I incorporate different flavors and ideas from Southern California, which is where I grew up.

What does ‘La Casa De Amigos’ mean?

In literal translation it means “the house of friends”. When coming up with this concept I knew I wanted my food truck to be more than just a place to grab a quick bite. I wanted to create a space where friends, family or strangers could come together to enjoy good food. In my culture food plays a huge role in keeping us connected. My hope is that when you eat at La Casa De Amigos that you feel like you are eating amongst friends.
